Lidio Amon Oduca, 60, of Galesburg, Illinois, died unexpectly at home, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Lidio was born September 2, 1964 in the Philippines, the son of Elpidio Bayna Oduca and Maria Lilia Amon Oduca. The family emigrated to the United States in the early 1970's to Chicago, Illinois.
Following high school, Lidio enlisted in the US Army, serving many years, stationed mostly in Germany and England. Following his honorable discharge, Lidio continued working for the US Government as a civilian contractor. Lidio eventually moved to Galesburg to be with his mother and worked as a night stocker at Hy-Vee Grocery.
Lidio is survived by his mother, Maria of Galesburg; one daughter, Grace Oduca and son, Cameron Oduca, and wife, Jenny Oduca from England; two brothers, Cezar (Donnalyn) and Melquidez (Monica) Oduca from Chicago;two sisters, Dannah Oduca from Montreal, Canada and Marites Oduca and her husband Jeff Prill from Encino, Califorina. Lidio also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Vanessa and her children, Louis, Arrianne, Emma, Eva, Julian, Joseph, Alexandre, Mia, and Chloe; and close cousin Melsie (Mike) Anderson and their daughter, Maya. He was preceded in death by his father.
A quiet man, Lidio enjoyed being home reading about current events, history and stories from the bible.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following services.
