Linda E. James

Linda E. James, 56, of Galesburg, died Friday morning, January 7, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Linda was born on April 23, 1954 in Burlington, IA the daughter of Theodore Oscar and Myra Julia (Nelson) Olson.  She married Charles Russell James on July 11, 1975.  He preceded her in death on September 15, 2001.  Linda is survived by 2 sons, Clinton L. (and Carmen) of Morton and Dustin C. (and Ashley) of Galesburg; 2 daughters, Amanda J. (and David) Robb of Ostrander, OH and Elana P. James of Galesburg; and a sister, Sharon Lucas of Montrose, IA.  Linda is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Kylie Alvarado, Khloe James, and Nikolas James. Linda worked for Maytag for 30 years, retiring in 2003.  She was currently working at the Galesburg Christian School Day Care in Galesburg.  She was a devoted and active member of the Colonial Baptist Church, where she loved to serve the Lord.  Aside from the Lord Linda lived for her children and grandchildren.  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Colonial Baptist Church, with Pastor Darrell Grimm officiating.  Burial will follow in Rio Baptist Cemetery, Rio, Illinois.  Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Colonial Baptist Church.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg.
