Lloyd E. Allen, Jr.

Lloyd Earl Allen, Jr., 63, of Avon, died at 11:54 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2017 in the Emergency Room at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.  Lloyd was born April 2, 1954 in Sioux City, IA the son of Lloyd Earl and Hazel (Matheny) Allen, Sr.  Lloyd is survived by one son, Colton Allen of Avon; three daughters, Rosie Allen of Knoxville, Toni and Tina Allen both of Galesburg; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Judy and Martha.    Lloyd worked several years as a truck driver.  He had recently began attending Northwoods Church.  Independence Day was Lloyd’s favorite holiday and could be found every year celebrating with his family at Lake Story Park and enjoying the fireworks.  He also loved to be outside, especially camping, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.  Lloyd was also a talented musician who loved to play the guitar and sing.  He also spent many evenings at Northgate Lanes bowling on several different leagues throughout the years.  Lloyd was a devoted friend to many. Cremation rites will be accorded.  A celebration of life to honor Lloyd will be held Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family in c/o Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, 1849 N.
