Loreto F. Alvarado

Loreto F. Alvarado, 99, of 367 E. North St., Galesburg, died at 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at home. Loreto was born on November 29, 1907 in Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico, the daughter of Pablo and Soledad Sanchez Fonseca. She married Primitibo R. Alvarado on June 27, 1927 in Watsonville, CA. Surviving Loreto are a son, Guadalupe (Isidora) of Galesburg; 2 daughters, Teresa (Marcos) Alberto of Mexico and Angela (Wakeen) Yount of Wyoming; 25 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; 41 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 29, 1986, a daughter, and a son. She was a homemaker most of her life. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a very loving, prayerful, strong and devoted mother and grandmother. She always helped others in need and went out of her way to do so. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Corpus Christi Church, with the Rev. William Miller, officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Corpus Christi Church.
