Louise A. Dennis, 93, of Oneida died at 12:40 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center. Louise was born August 12, 1918 in Knoxville the daughter of George and Kathryn (Fletcher) Nichols. She married Dorance “D.C.” Dennis in Galesburg on May 24, 1941. He died July 28, 1984. She is survived by 2 sons, Nick (Kay) Dennis of Oneida and Tim Dennis of Galesburg; 2 daughters, Lynda Dennis of Oneida and Becky (Wes) Girdler of Cotopaxi, CO; and 3 brothers, Paul Nichols of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Lewis Nichols of Knoxville, and Bernard Nichols of Arcadia, FL. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Daniel; 2 infant daughters, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters. Louise was educated in Knoxville Schools. She had worked at Mitchell’s Apparel in Oneida and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Wataga, and its Altar and Rosary Society. Visitation for Louise will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday December 1, 2011 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Wataga, with the Funeral Mass following at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Deus-Dedit Byabato will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg.
