View Louise's Video Tribute Louise Ann Trombitas, 84, of Galesburg, formerly of New York, died at 3:22 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014 at home with her family by her side. Louise was born November 13, 1929 in Chicago, the daughter of Anthony and Bertha (Becvar) Sunlitis.  She married Joseph Trombitis on January 21, 1967 in New York, NY.  He preceded her in death on August 27, 1998.  Those left to cherish the Memory of Louise are two daughters, Toni (Tom) Sleight of Logan, UT and Sandra Brown of Galesburg; one step daughter, Anne Weigand of New York, NY; one step son, Ronald (Laura) Trombitas of New York, NY; one brother, Anthony (Marie) Sunlitis of Buffalo, MN;  six grandchildren, Angie (Scott) Benson of Knoxville, Ralph (Andrea) Haga, III of Galva, Dan (Christine) Kelley of Texas, Eileen (Lyle) Beck of Washington, Anne (Shane) Webb of Utah, and Paul (Janice) Kelley of New York; and 16 great grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by one brother. Louise worked for the United States Postal Service in New York for many years.  Louise was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Ladies of Mary, and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary.  Louise loved to read and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles.  But most of all, Louise adored her family and truly loved being surrounded by them. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Rev. Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio will officiate.  A celebration of Louise’s life will follow at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory.  Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, Galesburg.  The rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m.  Cremation rites will be accorded following services.  Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing, NY.  Memorials may be made in Louise’s memory to OSF Hospice or Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
