Louise Godsil

Louise Godsil, 90, of 275 E. Carl Sandburg Dr., Galesburg, died at 11 p.m. on Friday December 1, 2006 at Marigold Health Care Center.   Louise was born on April 1, 1916 in Galesburg, the daughter of John G. and Margaret Hensler Watson.  She married Urban A. Godsil on October 28, 1939 in Galesburg. He died on March 6, 1991.  She is survived by one daughter M. Jolene Gibbs of Rio; one sister Marjorie Venegoni of Morton; 2 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one son John, and a grandson John.   She worked as a surgical assistant at Cottage Hospital, she then worked at Admiral as a line worker, and was a housekeeper for several homes in Galesburg for several years.  She was a member of St. Patrick’c Catholic Church, its Altar and Rosary Society, Third Order of the Lay Carmelites, and the Knox County Home Extension.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Watson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at Watson Funeral Home, with a wake service at 8 p.m.  Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.  .
