M. Eloise Adkins

M. Eloise Adkins, 96, of Galesburg, died at 5:10 a.m.  Friday, January 14, 2011 at Cottage Hospital. Eloise was born on February 14, 1914 in Newport, RI, the daughter of William and Bertha (Legasse) Eichler.  She married George Adkins on February 14, 1955 in Providence, RI.  George preceded Eloise in death on December 18, 2003.  She is survived by a Godson and Nephew, John, whom she helped raise. Eloise received her master's degree and was a social worker. A Funeral Mass for Eloise will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating.  Visitation will be from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary or to Costa Catholic Academy.  Burial will be in St. Columba’s Catholic Cemetery, Newport, RI.
