Mae Mckenzie

Mae “Jerry” McKenzie, 90, of Galesburg passed away at 4:05 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2012 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.   She was born February 26, 1922 in Florida, and was married to Kenneth Joseph McKenzie, Sr. He preceded her in death in June 1960.   Jerry is survived by her daughters, Jenny Nalley of Galesburg, and Linda Borunda of New Mexico; six grandchildren, Danny (Liz) Howard, Johnny (DeAnn) Howard, Jimmye (Kevin) Kraus, David (Alanna) Nalley, Aaron McKenzie, and Teri McKenzie; as well as 14 great-grandchildren and one expected great-great-grandchild.   She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ethel McKenzie; and one son, Kenneth Joseph McKenzie, Jr.   Jerry was a member of the Abingdon Kiwanis Club and Moose Lodge. She will be remembered as a hard worker, and for the way she loved her whole family, especially all of her grandchildren.   A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the McKenzie family.
