Margaret "Peg' A. Morris

Margaret A. “Peg” Morris, 89, of Galesburg, where she had lived at the same residence since 1951, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Delnor  Hospital in Geneva, IL. Peg was born September 8, 1922 in Alexis, the daughter of Charles L. and Emma B. (Smith) Lee.  She married Raymond J. Morris on May 26, 1942 in Alexis.  He preceded her in death on July 15, 1996.  Peg is survived by two daughters, Connie Stevenson of Batavia and Janet (Bill) Bloyd of Prairie Village, KS; 2 grandsons and 5 great grandchildren.  Peg graduated from Alexis High School in 1940.  She worked in the credit and catalog department at J.C. Penney’s for many years, retiring in 1991.  Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday January 28, 2012 at Watson Funeral Home.  Deacon Jim Haneghan will officiate.  Burial will follow in Alexis Cemetery, Alexis.  Visitation will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Watson Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
