Margaret Rose (Gillen) Sullivan, 92, of Galesburg, died at 6:02 p.m. Thursday July 28, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center. Margaret was born on August 15, 1918 in Monmouth, the daughter of Edward Thomas and Kathryn Elizabeth (Gavin) Gillen.  She married John F.  Sullivan on November 21, 1944.  He preceded her in death on July 11, 2007.  She is survived by one son, Timothy E. (Colleen) Sullivan of Galesburg; 4 daughters, Sister Ann T. Sullivan of St. Mary of the Woods, IN, Rebecca E. Sullivan of Galesburg, Julia Sullivan of Eden Prairie, MN, and Patricia E. (Patrick) Engelhaupt of Galesburg; 6 grandchildren, Katherine (Josh) Mason, Timothy (Kathy) Sullivan, Ryan Sullivan, Kevin Sullivan, Matthew Engelhaupt, and Michael (Cody) Engelhaupt; and 2 great grandchildren, Molly Mason and Ellie Engelhaupt.  She is also survived by 2 brothers, Roy Gillen and George Gillen both of Monmouth; and 4 sisters, Katherine Mills of Monmouth, Lucille Gillen of Monmouth, Frances Elliott of Monmouth, and Betty Hennenfent of Smithshire.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gillen Webber and two brothers, William Gillen and Richard “Dick” Gillen. Margaret graduated from Monmouth High School in 1936.  She then worked at Bankers Life Insurance Co. until she married John.  After marriage she farmed with John for 63 years.  She was active in school organizations for both public and Catholic schools, a member of the Knox County Home Extension, the Ladies of Mary, and was a charter member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with Rev. Deus-Dedit Byabato officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.   Memorials may be made to Costa Catholic Academy or to the White Violet Center, Sisters of Providence, St. Mary of the Woods, IN.
