Margaret W. Risen

Margaret W. “Peg” Risen, 96, of Galesburg, died at 7:35 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Galesburg.   Peg was born October 15, 1919 in Fulton, Illinois, the daughter of Robert E. and Tracy K. Tracy. Peg married the love of her life, Howard W. Risen on October 15, 1953. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1998.  Peg is survived by her dear friends James “Dave” (Bev) Powell of Galesburg, and her many friends, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband; parents, two sisters, and one brother.   Peg was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church, where she served on the Altar and Rosary Society, and the Forresters.     A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m., on October 23, 2015 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rev. William T. Miller, IC will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following mass and a burial of cremated remains will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Deacon Michael Crummer will be officiating . Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
