Margy F Sexton

Margy Fay Sexton, 87, of Galesburg, died Friday, July 7, 2017, 9:00 pm, at Seminary Manor, Galesburg. Margy was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 23, 1930. She was the daughter of Leo and Georgia (Smith) Lunnemann. She married the love of her life, L. Beecher Sexton, on September 18, 1948, at the Methodist Church in Knoxville, Illinois. Margy is survived by her loving husband, Beecher of Galesburg; two sons, Richard E. (Deanna) Sexton of Galesburg, and David L. (Barbara) Sexton of Naperville; three granddaughters, Sarah, Rebecca, and Kathryn; and three great grandchildren, Abigail, Mia and Breck. She was preceded in death by her parents. Margy was a part of the last graduating class from Gilson High School. She was a secretary at the Knox County Farm Bureau for 22 years. She also volunteered at the Cottage Corner for 21 years; and participated at Knox College as an International Student Host Family. Margy loved to bird watch with Beecher, and she adored spending time with her family. Graveside services for Margy will be held at 12 pm, on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Rev. Msgr. Ernie Pizzamiglio will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials in Margy’s honor may be donated to the Knox County Humane Society.
