Maria Consuelo Currie

Maria Consuelo Schaefer-Padilla Currie   Weaverville, CA - Maria Consuelo Currie, 52, formerly of Galesburg, IL died suddenly Tuesday (October 10, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center in Redding CA.   She was born June 8, 1954 in Carbondale IL to David and Mary Jo (Padilla) Schaefer. She spent most of her life in Galesburg IL, resided in Wylie, TX for many years and spent the last 6-months of her life in the beauty and tranquility of the picturesque mountainous city of Weaverville, CA.   Consuelo through her life was unwavering in her dedication and in her devotion as a volunteer to charitable organizations. She was a champion and vanguard for children and those who suffered – those less fortunate.   She was selfless at all times and would not hesitate to aid anyone who needed help or prayer.     Surviving are her parents, loving husband Gary Thomas Currie of Weaverville, CA; Sons: Carlos (Kelly) Clewell of Murphy, TX and Jeffrey Swan of Weaverville, CA; Sisters: Elizabeth (Jim) Smith of Galesburg; Susan Schaefer of Porter Ranch, CA; Cydney Schaefer of St. Louis, MO; Amniaska and Grace Schaefer of Reno, NV; Brothers: Brent (Maxine) Schaefer of Los Angeles, CA; Jon Schaefer of Atlanta, GA and Ernesto Schaefer of Reno, NV.  Nieces: Angelica Mangieri of Galesburg, IL; Spencer Williams of St. Louis, MO; Shva Schaefer, Iman Schaefer and Shondi Schaefer of Porter Ranch, CA. Nephews: Armon Mirzanagh of Galesburg, IL and Amiel Schaefer of Los Angeles, CA.  Great Nephew: Michael Giovanni Mangieri of Galesburg, IL.   Memorial Services will be held on Saturday October 21st, 2006 at 9:30am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 858 S. Academy St., Galesburg, IL. Interment Immediately following services at St. Josephs Cemetery, 1801 W. Main, Galesburg, IL.   Repast will be held at the L.U.L.A.C., 1045 W. Second St, Galesburg, IL.   Memorials may be made to the family.  Arrangements are being handled by Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg.
