Marjorie C. Garrison, 93, of Galesburg, died at 12:12 a.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Marge was born December 22, 1923 in Mt. Sterling, IL, the daughter of Raymond S. and Rose R. Boylen Krupps. She married John R. “Dick” Miller on May 6, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1972. She later married James H. Garrison on November 11, 1978. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2006. Marge is survived by a son in law, Ed Stevens of Galesburg; 5 grandchildren, Jason (Erin) Stevens, Stephanie (John M.) Washabaugh, Wendy (Todd) Newburgh, James (Annie Marie) Logan, and Josh (Jami) Logan; 12 great grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews. Along with both husbands, Marge was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Vicki Stevens; a grandson, Mark Wilke; and a brother, Bill Krupps. Marge graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1942 and St. Francis School of Nursing in 1945. She worked as a registered nurse at OSF St. Mary Medical Center for many years, retiring in 1989. She was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She served as an associate leader of Costa Brownie Girl Scouts and 4-H for 3 years. She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed making rosaries to donate to third world countries. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, with the rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with Rev. Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Costa Catholic Academy or to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
