Marlene A. Bullock, 78, of Galesburg, died at 1:57 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg. Marlene was born on June 21, 1931 in Oak Park, the daughter of Rudolph and Katherine Thomma Ellensohn.  She married Robert Bullock on November 16, 1949 in Lyons.  He preceded her in death on February 1, 1995.  Surviving Marlene is 2 sons, Robert (Gina) of LaCrosse, WI and David (Laurie) of Elmhurst; a daughter, Janet (Craig) Green of Bolingbrook; 2 brothers, Ronald of California and Gerry (Lorraine) of Illinois; and a sister, Catherine (Don) Ischay of Ohio.  Also surviving is 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 2 sons, William and Stephan; a sister, Claire Kennedy; and a great granddaughter, Alexis.  Marlene worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a receptionist, then as a collector at Brown’s Specialty for over 20 years.  She last worked for her son David and grandson Brian as a collector for Contractor Supply Warehouse.  She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, where she was very active.  She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society where she was a past president, organized the ADA (Annual Diocesan Appeal), had been a church trustee since June 1978, served on the parish council, received the Pere Marquette Award for dedicated service to the Diocese of Peoria, member of W.A.T.C.H., was an extraordinary minister, and had been the organizer of God’s Portion Day for 25 years.  She had served on the PTA at St. Joseph’s Academy and was past president.   Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18 at Corpus Christi Church with Rev. William Miller officiating.  Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Watson Funeral Home with the rosary being prayed at 8 p.m.  Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be made to March of Dimes.
