Marlys "Marcy" Gibson

Marlys “Marcy” Gibson, 63, of Galesburg, died at 7:03 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Marcy was born on September 6, 1947 in Sterling, the daughter of John and Miriam (Broadwater) Tipton.  Marcy is survived by 2 sons,  Tim (and Holly) Buhrow of Conway, AR and Jerry (and Sonja Debates) of Altona; 2 daughters, Julie (and Marshall) Schrader of Monmouth and Amy (and Joe) Stomberg of Galesburg; and 15 grandchildren.  She is also survived by 2 brothers, Willy Tipton of Dixon and Russell Tipton of Freeport. Marcy graduated from Carl Sandburg College.  She was a LPN and had worked for various nursing homes in the Galesburg and Peoria area.  She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.  A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with Rev. Joseph Presley, I.C. officiating.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials may be made to the Church.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg.
