Mary L. Polillo

Mary Lissa(Thompson) Polillo, 96, died at Richard Owen's Hospice Home, Peoria, Illinois on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

She was born October 10, 1928, in Galesburg, Illinois to parents Nellie (Morrison) and Raymond Thompson. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1947.

She is survived by her son Matthew Polillo. Her grandchildren are Amy Polillo, Robert Polillo, Nicole Crouse. Her great grandchildren are Daniel and Brooke Crouse, Isabella, Liam, Wyatt and Riley Polillo. Her nieces, Geri (Sonny) Laney, Shirley Riggs, and Patty Morrison. One nephew, Gary (Mary Rose) Morrison. Mary is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Peggy Polillo.  She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Polillo in 1993, her mother, father, and stepfather, Charles Wolever, and a special friend and companion Bill Burkhalther.

Together, Mary and Bill enjoyed farm life, fishing in Minnesota and his band Luv n Country.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Henderson Cemetery, Henderson, Illinois. Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. A luncheon will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
