Mary M. Flanagan, 92, of 2345 N. Seminary St. Galesburg, died at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday April 13, 2006 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg. She was born on January 25, 1914 in Roseville, Illinois the daughter of Stephen A. and Helen Fahey Mills. She married William Flanagan on April 18, 1938 in Rariton, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1968. Surviving are 3 sons: S. Michael (Nancy) and David R. of Surprise, AZ, and William G. of Peoria. 2 daughters: Eileen Conover of Galesburg and Jean Prina of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by 4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters and 2 great grandsons. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Mary attended Western Illinois University and Monmouth College. She taught at schools in Knox and Warren Counties for several years. She and her husband farmed in the Greenbush area for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Galesburg and it’s Ladies of Mary. She was a member of the OSF St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary as well as the Greenbush Unit of Warren County Homemakers. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Galesburg, with the Reverend Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Watson Funeral Home, where the rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Monmouth. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church or OSF St. Mary Medical Center Auxiliary.
