Mary Shragal

Mary Shragal, 85, of 800 N. Market St., Knoxville, formerly of 195 Pennsylvania Ave., Galesburg, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Knox County Nursing Home. She was born October 18, 1917 in Cuba, Illinois to Louis and Margaret Rolando Perino Genisio. She married Oscar Shragal, Sr. on October 17, 1936 in Galesburg. Surviving is her husband, two sons, Oscar (Ruth Ann) Shragal, Jr. of Athens, Alabama and Phil Shragal of Galesburg. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Karie Millard and Dan Shragal, two step-grandchildren, Mike Hendricks and Terri Asher, 7 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one brother. She was a homemaker. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 1 at Watson Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Newhall officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Nursing Home.
