Merilee Ann Brooks

Merilee Ann Brooks, 87, of Galesburg, died at 3:13 p.m. on August 29, 2017 in the Care Center of Abingdon. Merilee was born September 18, 1929 in Canton, the daughter of Bernard James and Veletta G. (Lindsey) Beasley.  She married Carl Dallas Brooks on October 9, 1948.  He preceded her in death on June 26, 1992.  Merilee is survived by one sister, Beverly Williams of Galesburg and several nieces and nephews.  She worked in the office at Caterpillar in Peoria for many years.In her free time Merilee enjoying golfing and traveling.  She loved her visits to Bermuda and Hawaii.  She also enjoyed walking and reading. No public services are planned.  Burial was in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria, IL.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
