Michael A. O'Malley

Michael A. O’Malley, 71, of Knoxville, formerly of Lincoln, IL, passed away at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville. He was born January 14, 1941 in Galesburg to Austin J. and Zelma A. Mitchell O’Malley. Michael is survived by his brother Phil O’Malley of Rialto, CA; and two sisters, Marie Brewer of Longmont, CO and Nancy Larson of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Austin, Jr., John, Bill, Jimmy, and David; and three sisters, Margaret, Catherine, and Helen. Michael was of the Catholic faith. Cremation has been accorded, and a memorial mass will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Galesburg. Rev. William T. Miller, IC will officiate. Burial of ashes will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery following the mass. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
