Michelle L. Cook

Michelle Lynn Cook, 47, of Galesburg, died Wednesday November 14, 2018 at home. Michelle was born November 25, 1970 in Galesburg, the daughter of James Lewis and Linda Lorraine (Dunn) Gallagher, Sr. She married R. Michael Clay in 1996. She later married Jerry Lee Cook on July 25, 2014 in Galesburg. He survives of Galesburg. Michelle is also survived by her daughter, Emerald Marull of Galesburg; her son, Jordon Clay of Galesburg; her mother, Linda Smith of Galesburg; four brothers, Joe Gallagher of Macomb, Josh (Jamie) Welsh of Altona, Jeremy and Jesse Gallagher both of Monmouth; and one sister, Jennifer (Ryan) Koralik of Chicago. Michelle was excited about becoming a grandmother to her only grandchild, Syriah Barnes on March 18, 2018. Michelle is also survived by her in-laws, Mary and Steve Clark as well as many special friends. She was preceded in death by her father, James; her step father, Mike Smith; and two brothers, Eli Welsh and James Gallagher, Jr. Michelle worked as a C.N.A. for over 20 years, spending most of her career at Cottonwood Nursing Home in Galesburg. She enjoyed collectibles especially Betty Boop, dolphins, and shot glasses. Michelle finally achieved one of her dreams of seeing the ocean in 2017. Michelle also loved her Yorkiepoo, Baby. Cremation rites will be accorded. A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
