Mildred  “Mickey” C. Godsil, 79, of Galesburg, died at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Mickey was born on April 6, 1930 in Waynesville, NC the daughter of Clem and O’dessa King Mehaffey.  She married Marvin Behrens on June 11, 1951.  He preceded her in death on January 25, 1965.  She later married Michael Godsil on July 23, 1971.  Surviving Mickey is, her husband, Mike of Galesburg; 3 sons, Gary (Kathleen) Reagen of Plymouth, MN, Marvin “Butch” Behrens and Patrick Godsil both of Galesburg; 3 daughters, Leah Behrens of Galesburg, Diana Smith of Waukegan, and Nancy (Roger) Fones of Galesburg; and a brother, Joe (Thelma) Mehaffey of Morristown, TN.  Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Nathan Reagen, Joshua Reagen, Nick Fones, Justin Fones, Reagen Behrens, Jay Behrens, and April Hughs; 4 great grandchildren, Ian, Cameron, Hope Reagen, and Kaelyn Fones; and an honorary granddaughter, Ellen Jackson.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Smith.  Mickey attended The Crossnore School in Crossnore, NC.  She retired from OMC after several years.  Cremation rites will be accorded.  A celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 19, 2009 from 2-6 p.m. at Harley’s Pub and Reception Hall (formerly the labor temple).  Her family will be returning her ashes home to North Carolina where they will be scattered in the Smoky Mountains.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Crossnore School, PO Box 249, Crossnore, NC 28616.
