Miriam T. Fifield

Miriam T. Fifield, 79, 70 Circle Dr., Galesburg, died at 12:55 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2008 at Cottage Hospital. Miriam was born on June 15, 1928 in Olney, the daughter of Arthur and Marie Leingang Mehmert. She married Dr. Charles A. Fifield on June 17, 1952 in Olney. Surviving Miriam are her husband, Charles of Galesburg; a daughter, Dr. Elizabeth (Robert Widing) Fifield of Park Ridge; 2 sons, Dr. Jeffrey (Vicki) Fifield of Austin, TX and Dr. Philip (Susan) Fifield of Peoria; and grandchildren, Daniel and Lisa Widing of Park Ridge, Marcus and Sean Fifield of Austin, TX, and Benjamin, Adam, and Nathaniel Fifield of Peoria. Her parents and a sister preceded her in death. Miriam graduated Bellville Academy and received her B.A. from Mt. Mary College in Milwaukee, WI. She was an office Manager at Dr.s Fifield and Fifield Dental Office for 35 years. She was a charter member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, St. Mary’s Auxiliary, Clio Club, numerous bridge clubs, Soangetaha Country Club, Mt. Mary Alumni Association, and the Gulf Shores Tennis Club. Miriam was a member at Corpus Christi Church. Funeral Mass will be a t 10 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Corpus Christi Church, with the Rev. William Miller, officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Watson Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
