Nellie I. Landon

Nellie Irene Landon, 81, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 5 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2022 at OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home, Peoria, Illinois.

Nellie was born March 15, 1941 in Abingdon, Illinois the daughter of George Everett and Gladys Eileen (Todd) Landon. Nellie grew up in Abingdon attending Abingdon schools and later graduated from beauty school. After a short time working as a beautician, she went on to a 31 year career at Admiral and later Maytag, retiring in 1996. Nellie also cleaned the Bergner’s Store and houses.

Nellie was a member of the former Congregational Church in Abingdon for many years until its closure. She enjoyed researching genealogy and crocheting.

Cremation will be accorded. No services are planned. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
