Nicholas S. Seibert, age 67, of 1240 IL Rte 97, Gilson, IL died Sunday February 5, 2006 at Great Rivers Medical Center, Burlington, IA. He was born on May 11, 1938 in Galesburg, IL the son of Anthony and Margaret Barsage Seibert. He married Theresa Schneller on Oct. 10, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY. She died on Sept. 7, 1993. He is survived by 3 Sons: Vincent of Gilson; Anthony (Connie) of Waterloo, IA; and Stephen of Chicago. One stepson: Charles of Galesburg. 1 Daughter: Marie Seibert of Gilson. 5 Brothers: Tom of Moline, IL; Frank of Davenport, IA; Joe of Waukegan, IL; Bernard of Janesville, WI; and Phil of California. One sister: Martha Forsberg of California. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He worked as a steamfitter for 35 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of Local #25 Steamfitters. He was also a farmer. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg. He was in the US Navy from 1956-1960. He enjoyed going to his cabin at the Mississippi River. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at his church, with Reverend Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wed. with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by Ralph M. Noble American Legion post #285. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
