Pansy Isal (Jackson) Swanson, passed into the arms of her Savior at 10:02 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg. She was born May 23, 1917 in Redfern, AR to Isal (Dalton) and Stanley Jackson.  Pansy married Robert William Swanson in Knox County, Illinois on February 17, 1936.  He preceded her in death on November 22, 1972.  Their four children, Robert Keith, Kenneth Paul (June Gabel) Swanson both of Galesburg; Barbara R. (John) Connors of Clearwater, FL; and Mary Louise (Ed) Sherwood of Macomb, survive, along with several grandchildren, and 53 great and great great and step grandchildren.  Pansy is also survived by one sister, Lucy Lindstrom of Galva, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Pansy grew up in Arkansas and Galva/Lafayette, Illinois, the family having moved to Illinois by covered wagon.  She graduated from Galva High School.  After moving to Galesburg, with most of her family raised, Pansy attended and graduated from the very first class of LPN’s in Galesburg in 1964.  She was active in many organizations throughout her lifetime, and particularly enjoyed working with children through Child Evangelism.  Pansy was of the Baptist faith. A graveside memorial service to celebrate the life of Pansy will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Pastor Philip Bell will officiate.  No visitation is planned.  The family requests memorial contributions be directed to Hospice Compassus.  Cremation services have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, Galesburg.
