Patricia L. Wing

Patricia L. Wing, 84, of Galesburg, Illinois died 9:50 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria, Illinois.

Pat was born February 28, 1939 in Ransom, Illinois, the daughter of Harold and Martha (Kmetz) Miller. Due to her father’s job the family moved around and finally settled in Knoxville, Illinois where she graduated from high school in 1956.

Pat married Anson C. Wing on December 7, 1977 in Greenwood, Illinois. He survives of Galesburg. Pat is also survived by two sons, William John (Tami) Wise of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Jay (Theresa) Wise of Woodhull, Illinois; two daughters, Marjorie (Dana) Sheib of Genoa City, Wisconsin and Rebecca Lonergan of Galesburg, Illinois; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and one brother, John Miller of Galesburg. Along with her parents, Pat was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Cokel.

Pat worked for many years as a buyer for Schultz Bros in Lake Zurich, Illinois. After Pat and Anson retired, they moved to their cabin in Wisconsin. Pat and Anson eventually became full time RV’ers and enjoyed travelling together for many years, eventually visiting 46 states. Pat and Anson moved back to Gilson, Illinois, and later moved to Hitchcock Apartments in Galesburg where Pat enjoyed being with her many friends who lived in the building. Pat loved to cook and spend time with her family.

Cremation has been accorded. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. at the VFW, 1001 Michigan Avenue, Galesburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made in Pat’s memory to VFW Post 2257, Galesburg.
