Patricia Ruth Lewis, 90, Galesburg, died peacefully at 6:47 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg. Pat was born March 17, 1930 in Galesburg, the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Margaret (Muffick) Fogarty. Pat married Henry “Hank” Howell Lewis on April 26, 1947 in Thomasville, GA. Hank preceded her in death on October 29, 1987. Pat is survived by three sons, Michael (Cindy) of Raymore, MO, Gregg (Judie) of Naples, FL, Joseph (Dee) of Alliance, NE; one daughter, Rebecca DeWitt-Earley of Springfield; her significant other of many years, Mike Meldrum of Galesburg; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Along with her husband, parents, and step-mother, Ruth, Pat was preceded in death by one son, David; two brothers, Eddie and Carol Fogarty; and a grandson, Matthew. Pat worked as a cashier at Wick’s Lumber Company for several years as well as being a homemaker raising her children. In 1974 Pat retired from working to take care of her grandchildren. Pat loved to bake and cook and enjoyed taking care of her pets. She was baptized and raised in church and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Galesburg. Pat enjoyed traveling especially to Florida with her family and children. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. COVID restrictions will be in place. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Services will be livestreamed at www.watsonthomas.com . Memorials may be made in Pat’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
