Patrick J. Canon

Patrick John Canon, 44, of Rio, died at 2:27 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 as a result of an automobile accident. Pat was born May 5, 1967 in Galesburg the son of Michael L. and Kathryn D. (Butler) Canon.  He married Lori Wooddell on March 23, 1991.  They later divorced.  Pat is survived by his parents Michael and Kathryn of Altona; a son, Brandon of Rio; a daughter, Kelsy of Rio; one brother, Michael of Galesburg; and a sister Jodi (Dwight) White of Galesburg.  For the past several years, Pat has worked for Heat and Control.  He had previously worked for Walt Dagen Construction.  In his free time Pat enjoyed building and racing drag cars. A memorial service for Pat will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Watson Funeral Home, with Rev. Deus-Dedit Byabato officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Per Pat’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials may be made to the family for the benefit of his children.
