Patrick Michael Godsil

Patrick Michael Godsil, 51, formerly of Galesburg, died December 11, 2015 at 8:46 p.m. at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa.   Pat was born June 28, 1964 in Galesburg, the son of Michael and step-mother Mickey Godsil. He grew up in Galesburg and graduated from the Alwood school district. Pat is survived by his father, Michael; four sisters, Diana Smith, Nancy (Roger) Fones, Leah Behrens, all of Galesburg and Sarah Bird-Johnson of Green Valley; and two brothers Wesley Bird and Tim Bird. Pat is also survived by a large and loving family known as “The Godsil Clan” full of numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; including his special cousin and best friend, Rhonda Clarke of Oneida and her daughter, Danielle Williams, whom he was honored with the gift of being her god-father. He is preceded in death by his loving step-mother Mickey, whom raised him as one of her own.   Pat was full of life and spirit, he loved to fish, cook and eat. He was loved by many and will be truly missed.   Cremation rites have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory. A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 12-2 p.m. at Harley’s Pub and Banquet Hall at 2243 Grand Avenue, Galesburg.
