View Pat's Tribute Video Patrick R Callihan, age 70, died at 7:30 a.m. on August 6, 2015 at his home in Galesburg, Illinois, after repeatedly kicking cancer’s butt for more than 13 years. He was born February 27, 1945 in St. Francis Hospital, Peoria Illinois, the son of Roland Stuart Callihan, and June Rose Wilcox Callihan. Four brothers, Dick, Denny, Bobby, and Jim preceded him in death. He married Jane Thorman Forrest February 14, 1988, she survives. Also surviving is one brother Ferris Callihan of Dallas City, Illinois, one sister Kathleen Callihan Morris of Beaverton, Oregon, four children, Stephanie Callihan of Princeton, Patrick S Callihan of Galesburg, Brian (Amanda) Forrest of Kewanee, Jennifer Callihan of Galesburg, and seven grandchildren, Cheyenne, Brody, Braden, Nolan, Delaney, Tucker and Trapper. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces and friends. Pat worked at Gale Products 1964-1984, Briggs Pottery 1986-2001, BNSF railroad 2001 retiring in 2013, He also worked many second part time jobs. He had been a Boy Scout leader, a member of The Avon Village board, Avon Lions club, and most recently Central Illinois Abate. Pat was a life time Green bay Packer Fan, He also enjoyed, deer hunting, riding his Harley, traveling, carpentering and wood working. But most of all he loved to spend time with family and friends. Graveside services will be Saturday September 12, 2015. Family and friends will meet and depart from Nees Harley-Davidson at 10 a.m. for the ride to Cottonwood Cemetery (north of Hanna CIty) for graveside services. A celebration of life will be held following the burial from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Thomas Legacy Center at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Casual dress is encouraged. Pat stated that “Flowers are pretty but there are kids out there that need our help more than I need flowers.” PLEASE, Memorials may be made to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (http://www.alexslemonade.org/), a foundation for childhood cancer research, or the charity of your choice
