Paul's Video Tribute Mr. Paul H. Davis, 66, of Galesburg, died at 2:55 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2013 at home after his courageous battle against cancer. Paul was born November 14, 1946 in Highland, the son of Harold W. and Rosemary Willman. He married Connie Royer on August 24, 1968 in Greenville. She preceded him in death on June 28, 2004. He later married longtime family friend Cathy McMullen on February 27, 2010. Paul is survived by his wife, Cathy of Galesburg; one son, Matthew (Katie) of Galesburg; two daughters, Paula (Rob) Baughman of Bloomington and Kelly (Jon) Day of Lovington; and five grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jake Baughman, Ally Irwin, Cade and Carson Day. He is also survived by one brother, David (Cherie) of Carlyle; and one sister, Valerie (Paul) Rutterer of St. Louis, MO. Paul graduated from University of Illinois with a BS in Animal Science. Spanning a career of 40 years, Paul worked at Purina in feed sales, Ciba Geigy in chemical sales, and for Wyffel Hybrids in seed sales, retiring in 2005. Paul served in the Army National Guard for over 30 years, with one year of active duty. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a past Grand Knight of Father J.O. Hunt Knights of Columbus Council 556. Paul also was a member of VFW Post #2257 and a past member of Elks Lodge #894. Paul enjoyed boating and spent many summer vacations in Lake of the Ozarks. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing golf, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities, and was an avid University of Illinois Fan. Recently he and Cathy enjoyed wintering in Texas. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 Watson-Thomas Funeral Home. The rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
