Paul J. Villarreal, 18, of 2240 Daniel Dr. Galesburg, died at 8:46 a.m. on Saturday April 22, 2006 at 121 W. Simmons St. Galesburg. Paul was born on January 6, 1988 in Galesburg the son of Gumaro Villarreal and Mary L. Lopez. He is survived by his father: Gumaro of Galesburg; his mother: Mary Lopez of Galesburg; one daughter; Alicia Carasca of Galva; 2 brothers: Adrian Cervantez of Peoria, and Gumaro Villarreal of Galesburg; 5 sisters: Monica Cervantez of Chicago, Sylvia Cervantez, Felicia Villarreal, Riley Villarreal, and Petra Villarreal all of Galesburg; maternal grandfather: Chino Lopez. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Ruth Lopez; and his paternal grandparents Hope and Daniel Villarreal. He worked for the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation (DORS) as an assistant to people with disabilities. He was active in the YMCA and participated in basketball, football, baseball, and soccer while in school. He attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Paul enjoyed fishing. Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday April 26, 2006 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Reverend Joseph Presley officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Watson Funeral Home, with the rosary being prayed at 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.
