Philip E. Joseph, 86, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Toulon Health Care Center, Toulon. Philip was born in Galesburg December 9, 1924 to Samuel and Mary Joseph.  Philip was preceeded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Tony, Frankie and Johnnie; and 3 sisters, Stella, Anastasia, and Annie. Uncle Peepa is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him and will miss him.  Philip served in WWII from 1943 to 1946.  He was decorated with 5 medals.  Philip was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad for 43 years, retiring in 1985.  He was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church and American Legion Post #285, Galesburg.  Philip loved to fish and spend time with his nieces and nephews. His family would like to say thank you to his niece and caregiver, Susan Worrick of Chillicothe.  They would also like to thank Toulon Health Care Center, who took such good care of him the last several months. Funeral Mass will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday October 29, 2011 at St. Patricks Catholic Church with Rev. William Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery, where military rites will be performed by the American Legion Post #285.  Visitation will be held at Watson Funeral Home Saturday from 12-1 p.m.  Memorials may be made to the Easter Seals or to St. Patricks Church.
