Phillip M. Stinson

Phil's Video Memorial Phillip M. Stinson, 64, of Galesburg, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Phil was born February 27, 1949 in Galesburg, the son of Guy and Mary (Wiles) Stinson.  He married Judy McCool on July 11, 197 in Galesburg.  Phil is survived by his wife Judy of Galesburg; one son, Matthew of Chesapeake, VA; two daughters, Cathryn (Drew) Woodbury of Cambridge and Cheryl Stinson of Tremont; and five grandchildren, Cameron and Austin Woodbury, McKenzie, Addisyn, and Keegan Stinson.  Phil is also survived by his brother Jim (Linda) Stinson of Galesburg.  Phil was preceded by his father Guy in 2000 and his mother Mary in 2008. Phil graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and Costa High School.  He worked for over 35 years in the maintenance department at Maytag, retiring in 2004.  In his free time, Phil enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing golf, camping by the river, and riding his motorcycle with Judy.  Phil was also a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2013 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, Rev. Dennis McQuown will officiate.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
