Rachel N. Likes

Rachel Nicole Likes, 26, Galesburg, died in the emergency room at Galesburg Cottage Hospital at 5:28 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2021. Rachel was born April 3, 1994 in Galesburg, the daughter of Richard L. and Debra S. (Crowley) Likes.  She graduated from Galesburg High School in 2012.   Rachel loved caring for people, becoming a CNA and working at Woodridge Living Center, DD Homes, and was currently working at Marigold.  Rachel is survived by her pride and joy, her son, Kohen Lee Likes; her mother, Debra Likes of Galesburg; her father, Richard (Leta) Likes of Monmouth; and two sisters, Jaclyn (Kenneth) Jones of Galesburg and Cheyenne Bruning of Galesburg.  She is also survived by her maternal grandfather, Floyd Smith of Yorba Linda, CA; one niece, Emily Harlan; and two nephews, Aiden Harlan and Elijah Jones.  Rachel was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Leonora Smith.  Rachel had a loving and caring soul, always wanting to being a peacekeeper, trying to make the best of things.  She could best be described as a whirlwind.  Rachel loved her family and close friends fiercely.  She loved music and loved to dance and enjoyed cooking.
