Raymond Franklin Peterson

Raymond Franklin Peterson, 73, of Henderson, died at 8:22 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Prairie View Care Center, Lewistown. Ray was born March 21, 1940 in Ontario, WI the son of Hans and Carrie (Helgestad) Peterson.  He married Delores Dexter on October 27, 1979 at the First Presbyterian Church in Galesburg.  Those left to cherish Ray’s memory is his wife, Delores of Henderson, one son Michael Peterson of Galesburg; one daughter, Lori (David) Erickson of Aurora; and two grandchildren, Claire and Tyler Erickson.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lorraine Peterson; and five brothers, Maynard, Alvin, Alvie, Calvin, and Raydar Peterson. Ray worked for 45 years as a lineman for Illinois Power Co. retiring in May of 2000.  In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home.  Rev. Mark Dexter will officiate.  Burial will follow in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
