Richard D. “Walley” Waller, 51, of Galesburg, died at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at home. Walley was born August 31, 1961 in Galesburg, the son of John C. and Phyllis M. (McMahill) Waller. He married Toni Rucker on September 23, 1979. He is survived by one daughter, Carrie “Cami” Waller of Hartsburg; his mother, Phyllis Waller of Galesburg; two sisters, Bonnie (Richard) Davis of Galesburg and Sherry McCoy of Schiller Park; two nieces, Jessica (Travis) Custer and Katherine Davis both of Galesburg; one nephew, Timothy Davis of Spokane, WA; three great nieces, Tiana, Hannah, and Lexie; and two great nephews, Trenton and Nathan. He was preceded in death by his father, John in 1993 and one sister, Jody Lyn Waller in 1965. Walley worked on a farm for several years, he then went to work in receiving at Dick Blick where he had worked since 1985. He enjoyed collecting toy cars especially Chevy trucks. He also enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of East Main Congregational Church. But what he loved the most was being at home using his DVR and was quite the music aficionado. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, July 29, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home. Committal of cremated remains will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family.
