Richard M. Barton

Richard M. Barton, 58, of Galesburg, died on Saturday, July 13, 2019, 10:04 AM, at his home.  Richard was born on October 7, 1960 in Galesburg. He was the son of Richard J. and Dolores M. “Dollie” (Zetterburg) Barton. Richard is survived by his father; a brother, Don Barton of Galesburg; a sister, Diane Norton of Maine; eight nephews; one niece; three great-nephews and four great nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dollie; and a sister, Ricky.  Richard graduated from GHS in 1978. He was a carpet/flooring installer. Richard was a member of the A.B.A.T.E., volunteered to beautify the east side of Galesburg. He as an avid NASCAR, White Sox, Dallas Cowboys, and 76’ers fan. Richard loved music, especially his favorite band, Chicago.  Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 11 AM - 1 PM at the OAKS Senior Center, 176 N Farnham Street, Galesburg. Arrangements have been entrusted with Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
