Rita L. Sullivan

Rita Lucille Sullivan, 84, of 505 S.E. Spring, Pullman, WA, died at 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday January 24, 2007 at O.S.F. St. Mary’s Medical Center in Galesburg, IL.   Rita was born on November 11, 1922 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Timothy John and Catherine McGrath Sullivan.  Surviving Rita are: one brother John Sullivan of Galesburg, IL, and several nieces and nephews including: Ann Sullivan, SP West Terre Haute,IN; Rebecca Sullivan, Galesburg; Julia Sullivan, Eden Prairie MN; Timothy E. Sullivan, Galesburg; Patricia Sullivan Engelhaupt, Galesburg; Kathleen Sullivan Schumacher, Athens OH; John M. Sullivan, Clearwater FL; Marcia Sullivan Parrish, Monmouth Il. And Jane Sullivan, Monmouth IL.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Catherine M. Sullivan and her brother Robert C. Sullivan.   Rita was a graduate of the University of Illinois and the University of Wisconsin where she earned a Masters degree.  She served in the United States Extension Service at Penn State University and Washington State University where she eventually retired.  Rita was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pullman, WA. As well as numerous charitable and religious organizations.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday January 29, 2006 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with the Reverend Deus-Dedit Byabato, officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at church.  Private family burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Costa Catholic Academy, 2726 Costa Dr, Galesburg, IL 61401 or White Violet Center, 1 Sisters of Providence, St. Mary of the Woods, IN 47876.
