Hawkinson of Denver, Colorado formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died December 26th, 2010.    Rob was born June 11, 1915 in Galesburg, Illinois to Charles and Ellen Hawkinson.  He married Ethel J. Hawkinson on September 1, 1939.  Surviving are his two daughters Judith A. Schwabauer of Littelton, Colorado, Mary K. Hubbell of Denver, CO and his son David C. Hawkinson of Littelton, CO. Also surviving are his 6 grandchildren Craig Schwabauer of Carterville, IL, Kim Lanc of Ottawa, IL, Jim Hawkinson of Carterville, IL, Bob Hawkinson of Perryville, MO, Stephanie Schwabauer–de Gongora of Denver, CO and Becca Hawkinson of Springfield, IL and his 10 great grand-children.    He was preceded in death by the love of his life Ethel Hawkinson, his brothers Wilfred Hawkinson, Richard Hawkinson, and his sisters Alyce Gordon and Maryon Hawkinson.   Rob graduated from Tri-State University in Angola, IN with a B.A. in accounting and went on to work for Gale Corporation as an accountant.  He later left Gale to help with the family business of Hawkinson Manufacturing Company in Galesburg, Illinois.  He became President and ran the business until its closing in the mid 1980s.  He served as Vice President for the Illinois Woodworkers Association in 1961 and later went on to serve as President of the same organization.  He was a proud member of the First Lutheran Church in Galesburg, IL.    Visitation will be at 10 a.m .with service at 11a.m. this Saturday, January 2 at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Johnson officiating.  A graveside service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church of Galesburg, IL.  Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg is in charge of arrangements.
