Robert “Rob” Stephen Kisler, 50, of Des Moines, IA, formerly of Knoxville, IL, died at 9:13 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at home. Rob was born April 14, 1958, in Galesburg the son of L. Boyd and Dorothy G. McKeague Kisler. Surviving are his parents Boyd and Dorothy of Galesburg; 2 brothers, Larry (Betsy) of Camerson and Tom (Lou Ann) of Ankeny, IA; 2 sisters, Joan (Chuck) Semande of Knoxville, and Jane (Mike) Mooney of Galesburg. Also surviving are 3 nieces, 5 nephews, and 2 great nieces. Rob graduated from Knoxville High School in 1976. He attended Western Illinois University for 3 ½ years. He worked as a software installer of Vertical Software in Peoria for several years and had spent the past 10 years working for Casey’s General Store in Ankeny, Iowa. While Rob lived in Peoria he was a member of the Blues Society where he served as an officer. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Corpus Christi Church. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
