Roger D. Wheelhouse

Roger D. Wheelhouse, 72, of East Galesburg, died on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. He was born May 31, 1949 in a barn near Raritan, IL, the son of Richard Paul and Ruth Ann (Lashbrook) Wheelhouse. Roger graduated from Galva High School in 1968. He worked as a pharmacy technician at Cottage Home Health for about 15 years, retiring in 2007. Roger is survived by his partner of 33 years, Shirley Guss of East Galesburg; two sons: Richard Michael (and Beth) Wheelhouse and Roger (and Jessica) Wheelhouse, both of Kewanee, IL; three daughters: Karry Wheelhouse of Indianapolis, IN, Brandy Wheelhouse of Davenport, IA, and Jesse Wheelhouse of Kewanee, IL; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving is two brothers: Richard (and Rita) Wheelhouse of Kewanee, IL, Roddrick “Roddy” Wheelhouse of Galva, IL; two sisters: Rebecca “Becky” Wheelhouse of Galva, IL, and Rose Wheelhouse of ME; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Raymond Wheelhouse; two sisters: Marsha Hepner and Rita Mallery. Roger absolutely loved his dog, Maggie. He enjoyed mowing, listening to music, and had a passion for guns and was a member of the Galesburg Rifle Club. Cremation will be accorded. Private visitation will be held at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the family.
