Roger E. Klump

Roger Eugene Klump, 67, of Galesburg, died at 10:08 a.m. Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Tidewell Hospice, Port Charlotte, FL. Roger was born August 16, 1951 in Galesburg, the son of Wilfred F. and Lillian L. (Lipsky) Klump.  Roger is survived by one son, Kyle Klump of East Peoria.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Klump.  Roger Started in housekeeping at Cottage, then went to Central Processing and finished his career as a Pre-Op Aid in Surgery, working for37 years, retiring in May of 2017.  He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Peoria area German American Society in Peoria.  Roger loved reading and studying history.  He also enjoyed traveling.  In 2017 Roger went to Ireland and was planning a trip back this year.  Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg. Roger’s funeral mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Father Jacob Rose will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made in Roger’s memory to the Knox County Humane Society, American Cancer Society, or the American Red Cross.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com .
