Roger M. Mcgraw

Roger M. McGraw, 79, of Galesburg, died at 1:32 a.m. Saturday March 27, 2021 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Roger was born July 14, 1941 in Salisburg, MO the son of Clarence Victor and Amanda (Frazier) McGraw.  He married Joyce Ann Van Hesley on August 2, 1964 in Keokuk, IA.  Joyce survives of Galesburg.  He is also survived by one son, Terry of Galesburg.  Roger was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers.  Roger graduated from Salisburg High School and later from Southeast Missouri State with a bachelor’s degree in music education.  Roger was a music teacher at Abingdon, Yates City, and lastly Williamsfield Schools.  He later went on to work at Butler Mfg, JC Penney’s and was also a truck driver.  Roger was extremely musically inclined and was on the St. Louis Musical Opera Chorus and spent many years playing music at various nursing homes.  He was a member of First Church of God. Cremation has been accorded.  No services are planned.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
