Ronald E. Hagan

Ronald E. Hagan, 79, Galesburg, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at home with his family by his side. Ron was born in Springfield, IL, March 3, 1938 to Patrick Hagan and Garnet (Babbitt) Hagan.  He married Carlene Daniels June 24, 1998 in Spartanburg, SC. Surviving are his wife Carlene; a son, Ryan Hagan, Galesburg; daughters, Shana Daniels, Burbank, CA and Rhonda (Mark) Nichols, Galesburg.  Also surviving are two sisters, Doris Herrin and Carol Kenan both of Galesburg; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Virgil Hagan. Ron worked construction for 34 years for Fox Construction.  He was a Laborer and Teamster and was a proud union member.  He recently received his 50 year member award with Laborers Union 538. He loved his collector cars and he and Carlene attended many car shows. Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Cremation rites will be accorded following visitation.  No funeral service is planned.  Memorials may be made in Ron’s memory to Harbor Light Hospice of Galesburg and the Knox County Humane Society.
