Ronald E. Landon, 81, of 337 Day St., Galesburg, died at 7:35 p.m. on Thursday January 18, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. He was born on September 6, 1925, in Galesburg the son of Luther and Lynn Gillenwater Landon. He married Louise Norberg in 1948. She died in October of 1978. He then married Delores Baker in 1974. She died in March of 2001. He is survived by one daughter Jeanette Johnson of Roscoe, Illinois. He is also survived by one niece Bernie Bernard of New Mexico and a special friend Helen Abbing of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and an infant son. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1943. He served in the US Navy from August 1943 to January 1946, serving as a signalman 3rd class. He worked for the CB&Q for 27 years as a freight and mail handler. He then worked for OMC Gale Products for 11 years. He last worked for Brinks Armored Car for 4 years, retiring in 1987. Ronald enjoyed bingo, fishing, and bowling. He called bingo for the VFW and Moose Lodge. He was a member of Railway Clerks Union and the local VFW Post #2257. Cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned.
