Ronald T. Higgins

Ronald T. Higgins, 70, of Galesburg, died at 8:56 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.    He was born on November 28, 1938 in Davenport, IA, the son of Harry and Wanda Stanton Higgins.  Surviving Ron is his son, Rod Higgins of Galesburg; 3 daughters, Julie Miller of Galesburg, Melissa Miller of Oquawka, and Rhonda Gutierrez of East Moline; and two brothers, Harry Higgins of Davenport, and Alan Higgins of West Palm Beach, FL.  Also surviving is 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 1 sister and 3 brothers.   Ron served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958.  He worked as a security guard for Wells Fargo for many years and as a cab driver for Lucky Cab Co. in Rock Island.   Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Watson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.
